By using the Mycrocosm web site you agree to be bound by the conditions outlined below. Please check this page periodically as we may update our terms of service or privacy policy
As a user your privacy is important to us and we aim to collect minimal data from you. Apart from the data you create on the site itself, the only data we require is your OpenID URI (which you use to sign in) and a username to use on the site; these may be publicly visible on the web site itself. All other information such as email address or phone number is optional and we will not sell, distribute or publish any of this information.
Data you create while using the site belongs to you and you may delete it at any time. You may also delete your account at any time (to do so please email the Mycrocosm team at mycrocosm (at) media.mit.edu). Outside of our backup procedures we do not keep deleted data or account information. You should keep in mind however that by design, most of what you create on the Mycrocosm site is publicly viewable and as such may be presented publicly by the Mycrocosm's creators and others.
We may also collect data on general site usage, e.g. account creation rates, most used features, frequency of updates etc. This information however is not identifying and will only be analyzed in aggregate.
